National Bed Month is now upon us and health experts are advising people to get the most out of their beds and mattresses this March.
Crampex, specialist in night cramp problems is doing all they can to prove that people can improve their health by minor adjustments to their sleeping regime.
Research shows :
Three out of four people are waking up every morning feeling exhausted and sleepy.
46% of the people asked get six hours of sleep a night
A further 18% getting under 5 hours sleep a night.
Crampex said “People should buy the biggest and best bed and mattress they can, as a person can spend an astonishing 25 years of their life in bed”
One child’s gaming obsession resulted in a mother calling the police. The 49 year old mother from Boston, Massachusetts called the ploice after waking up in the middle of the night to see her son playing the video game, Grand Theft Auto 4.
The child’s refusal to obey his mother’s wishes resulted in a phone call being patched through to the federal government at early hours of the morning. She told the newspaper “I woke in the middle of the night and saw the light on in his bedroom, i called the police because if you don’t respect your mother, what are you going to do in your life?”
I personally think that the son needs a new bed and mattress to encourage him to have a good night’s sleep!
Its been a while since we had a video on the Click 4 beds blog and it’s fun time Friday so here we go! Whilst browsing through you tube UK for something which would fit the bill, I came across a surprising amount of videos which featured babies escaping from their cots!! I find the whole “Bed Warming Service” slightly strange and I personally don’t like the thought of someody else been in the “clean” bed before me. I think an electric blanket in each of the beds would be a much easier option!
I was horrified to discover that a recent survey discovered 500,000 brits admitted to washing their bed linen ONLY three times a year.
Sheilas’ Wheels found that under-25s were the worst culprits, with around one in ten washing their bedding six times a year. While the older generation put them into the wash approximately 3 times a month.
With the weather been as miserable as It has these last couple of months, I couldnt think of anything worse than snuggling up in dirty duvets! The 1 place in the house where alot of the poplulation spend most of their time (estimated over 49hours a week) and people are chosing to spend it living in their own filth.
It really astonishes me that half a million people are sleeping in these conditions, when many use the bed as an alternative to a dining table – enjoying snacks and dropping crumbs!
After moving into my new house, I immediately realised what little space I had to store all my belongings. I never really realised how much “stuff” I had. And when I say stuff, what I really mean is things I have collected along the years, that I could part with but chose not to. An elderly woman from Huddersfield had a lucky escape after a therapeutic wheat bag set fire to her bed. The pensioner, believed to be in her 80’s, managed to get out of bed after noticing the bag had overheated and began to set her bed ablaze.
She put the bag in some water whilst waiting for the fire service to arrive. The Brighouse and Elland firefighters attended the incident and carried the mattress and bedding outside.
The woman was unhurt. Wheat bags can be warmed in a microwave to provide relief for aches and pains.
